troll hair, don’t care! | a very trolls birthday party!

before we start this blog post, it’s a must that we all give a little love to jt + his brilliance…..

okay, by a show of hands (or comments), who danced around just a bit? how can you not?

we were doing a lot of dancing this past weekend at a very special “trolls” birthday party that i had the incredible opportunity to help plan + make happen for a sweet little girl. i’m seriously still smiling just thinking about the fun that was had….not only by the kiddos at the party, but my fun that came with bringing the fun + funky feel of “trolls” come to life. and, let’s not forget that what’s still making me smile is how i got to help create such a beautiful memory for a sweet family!

this all came together when a friend of mine asked if i would be willing to help make this party happen for her daughter. this mama had just taken a new job and was commuting back and forth to florida for her new job (which right here, she gets the mom of the year award from me!). we shared some ideas, i put together a pinterest board of some ideas (note: the glitter poppers were axed by the party location!), and we got to work!

party decor, party favor bags, party favors, backdrops, cupcake toppers + so much more made this party so very sweet!

let’s look at the fun!

party backdrop + custom birthday banner: this very rainbow backdrop was super easy to make; just plastic tablecloths from party city that we looped over a piece of rope and hung up. the custom birthday banner was my design, featuring the official “trolls” font. the birthday girl loves her sparkle, so i made her “4th” stand out with the help of a paper pinwheel + some purple glitter paper!

party favor bags: i am in love with “poppy,” and wanted her feel to come through in the party treat bags! i picked up some simple bright colored paper bags, and then added a little “poppy” headband out of paper, and added her blue flower to finish it off.

party favors: oh. my. gosh. this was such a treat! thirty handmade “trolls” headbands made from tulle, ribbons + silk flowers. five different colors, lots of creativity + so much fun! these were definitely one of the best touches of the whole party! plus, we did some fun, tulle wrapped blow pops to add to the kiddos’ treat bags!

cupcake toppers: you know i love my cupcake toppers! i ended up finding the “poppy” silhouette + added some rainbows + the flower character from the movie.

wrapped cutlery: we loved this idea that we found via pinterest! we took forks + spoons and wrapped them in bright pink napkins and finished them off with little candy bracelets!

this party just left me with the best feeling ever. to see this little birthday girl so happy, and with her family just meant so much. i am so indebted to my friend to welcoming me to her family’s celebration, for asking me to help make this possible, and for always being such a champion for my creativity….

and, it wouldn’t be a “trolls” post without me wrapping up with my other fave song from the movie:
