welcoming home babies!

it was kind of an unprecedented week for the studio this week…getting to welcome + be a part of two little ones’ nurseries! not only that, but one of these special canvases actually became the family’s birth announcement to their friends + family online. isn’t that just so unique + creative + cool? i am just so touched that the piece i created holds such a special place in that family’s sharing of their little girl with the world!

want to see a peek? (of course, you do!)

this adorable vintage-inspired mini monogram
adorned with a pink tutu!

first up is a canvas i had the joy of creating + delivering this week for a sweet baby girl that included my very favorite element of personalization: the monogram. this one was so fun…we had a picture of a swatch of printed paper from a birth announcement, and we worked off of that to match the color + feel of the piece. we wanted to go with a vintage feel, something light in color with a touch of pink. we included a border with a light khaki with an ivory brushstroke overlay (to help give it a vintage-y + weathered kind of feel!), with an ivory center. then the monogram was done reversed out with a pearlized ivory card stock, overlaid on a pale pink paper. i can’t wait to see how this super simple, classic piece looks in this new sweet baby’s nursery!

and a very special, very customized
special delivery canvas for a new little girl!

and, next up is a custom special delivery canvas wall art…this mama is the one that i made these for back in may (one of my fave projects ever!), and at the time, they were waiting to see if the baby was a boy or a girl! (note: back in may, all bets were on girl!) and, we were right! this little miss arrived in june, and her mama (a great friend of mine) asked me to make her a special delivery canvas, that featured all of her birthdate details. and, this mama was so kind to kind of leave the design up to me. she did detail that she was loving teal + purple together, so i got to creating a mixed media piece that combined acrylic paint, grosgrain ribbon + a little sparkle (because every little girl needs just a touch of sparkle, right?!?)

i so love when mamas + daddys want to add some personalization to a nursery…it really is such a special time, and i love the idea that one of my pieces will be a keepsake for a family, or a piece that carries through a little one’s room as they grow!
