four adorable ways to get kids writing this summer

summertime…i don’t know about you, but summer kind of stresses me out. the reason: summer slide.

before you stop reading, the thing i know about my kids is that they do need structure. if there’s anything that was confirmed for us since march 2020 it’s that, if given the chance, my kids will happily sit an entire day, in their pajamas, on the couch/floor/kitchen table with an ipad in their hands. and, when i find them, they’ll have this glassy look in their eyes like they haven’t seen sunlight. so, when it comes to summer, i’m all about balance – yes, they get their fun game time on the devices, but we do try to have a little bit of summer learning, reading, and practice to keep up on the basics before school starts!

so, in case you’re reading this and saying, “yep! that’s our house too!” or you just want to encourage your kiddos to get some writing practice in this summer, you have kiddos who love to color, or you need an idea for fun kids summer activities, i designed a new set of my handmade stationary just for them! perfect for toddlers to older kiddos who love to color, i feel like if these were around when i was a kid, i’d have been all over this (along with all of my lisa frank obsession!)

is there anything more fun than getting to color your own cards?!? plus, you can get a set of crayons or colored pencils too!
it’s fun to color your own friendly monster!
get your kiddos their own set + encourage them to write this summer!
who remembers having a pen pal?!? i love the whole idea of bringing this back!

when you get yours for your kiddos, i would love to see how they’re making their cards personal + creative! make sure to tag your photos with @reneststudio to show off your kiddos’ awesome artwork!
