“Valentine’s Day Friendship Rocks with Ashley Murcia”

Valentine’s Day is around the corner, and you can get your kiddos in on the DIY fun for helping them make Valentines for their friends. This year, skip the box of cards and spread a little friendship and kindness with some Valentine’s Day Friendship Rocks!

Supplies Needed:

  • Small river rocks (available at Michaels)
  • Red acrylic paint
  • Fine-point Sharpie marker
  • Paper plate
  • Paper towel

Step 1:
Select one of the river rocks — it’s best to have one that is slightly flat on one side.

Step 2:
Squeeze a small amount of the red acrylic paint on the paper plate. Dip the pad of your thumb into the paint.

Step 3:
Make two thumbprints on the flat side of the river rock in a heart shape. Set the rock aside and let it dry.

Step 4:
Once the paint is dried, take your Sharpie and draw a fun face, arms and legs on your heart to make a little Valentine’s Day friend. Finish off your rock with adding a special Valentine’s Day message on the back.

Step 5:
Hand out your friendship rocks to your friends and classmates!
