it’s the year of 2020, and we all know that this is the season to support our small business friends. all i’ll say is this: we need the support. this season is usually the biggest for small business and this year, many of us have just gotten clobbered. so, in support of some of my favorite handmade, small shops, here’s a list of those i think it would be awesome for you to support this year! (oh, and p.s. check out their socials too! give them a follow, and when you buy from them, leave them a review…these are all awesome ways you can keep supporting small business!)
moonstone beauty co.
this is the newest venture by one of my dear friends (who also happens to be my hair stylist + a total artist)! meg loves creating and when she can create something that also is good for the environment, creates minimal waste + is organic, she is 1000% on board. her shampoo bars are an amazing way to take care of your hair in a clean, all natural way (plus, wouldn’t they make a perfect stocking stuffer?)

when you have a coffee-lover on your list (or, you’re a coffee-obsessed, all-day drinker), artisanal coffee is the only way to go. and, when you can get that one-of-a-kind fresh roasted coffee from a small business that’s also run by a female roaster (#boom), this is one of the must-shop shops that needs to be on your holiday list. oh, and not only does karen feature ah-mazing coffees, but she’s curated an incredible collection of coffee gear, coffee gifts, and more…all shoppable online!

okay, so the hand-painted peg dolls that karen creates and makes are simply adorable! she designs these dolls to be just like your family, pop culture icons, or whatever you’re looking to have created. they’re adorable to add to a dollhouse, add as a shelf sitter, or for creative, imaginative play.
lauren black designs
lauren’s work and designs for home are awesome + make fantastic gifts! with everything from sign to LEGO trays, her woodworking and restoration skills are top notch and one-of-a-kind.

friends, if there’s any time this year to shop small + support small business, this month is it. every single handmade shop offers something unique and different and buying from them makes a difference to the owner and their family. i know that’s said a lot, but it’s the truth…supporting small, handmade business is supporting someone’s passion and their dream.
