it’s a wrap!

the nursery is finally wrapped. finally. and without a moment to spare (at least i hope, because to be totally honest, i’m super ready to meet our newest little one!)

the last few weeks have been rough to get the last few details finished up. it’s a very, very difficult thing for me to admit, but i’m tired. my energy has been zapped. the fact that i had to go to the grocery today made me want to curl up in a ball and go to sleep. but i’ve done what i can to power through. and with some very precious help from my dear family, i’ve been able to put some of the energy reserves towards some of the crafty and creative things that i love and fuel me so much.

so, what have been the last few nursery projects to finish up? well, take a little tour with me…

addition of some all-important family photos…thanks to katie lew photography and our christmas photo shoot, we had a couple of great black and white photos to place in these pottery barn kids white gallery frames i was obsessed with. 5″x7″ openings in 18″x18″ frames. and i found the perfect place for them…right over the rocking chair, each positioned a bit offset from one another.

chevron wrapped canvas wall art…the space over the baby’s dresser/changing table was screaming for some artwork. so i started with a sketch (of course) and planned out the space. first up, a 16″x 20″ canvas wrapped with navy and white chevron fabric. (hint: if you need a super simple piece of wall art, fabric wrapped canvas is about as easy as it gets. one yard of fabric, a canvas, scissors and a staple gun are all you need.)

small painted owl canvas…again, to complement the chevron wrapped canvas, i wanted to make sure we pulled in the owl theme on this wall. a simple 8″ x 10″ canvas with the alligator green background and finished with a white and navy owl, courtesy of the cricut and the give a hoot cartridge. the perfect addition to the wall!

and, finally a white gallery frame with white mat that awaits a photo of our new little man. the perfect completion to the trio art over the dresser/changing table!

and, last but not least, i couldn’t have this little one feeling left out…he had to have his very own straw door wreath too! (hopefully you notice his first initial hasn’t been added yet…that’s because we aren’t even sure yet what it’ll be!)

the last thing on the nursery is the chevron rug from pottery barn kids….which i’ve mentioned before, but i didn’t realize you couldn’t really see it in previous posts! so here it is…a much better pic of this lovely rug

and, i’m very happy to say that after months of prep, that’s a wrap on this baby’s little nest!

here’s to your little one’s spaces,
ashley
