spring is one of my favorite times of the year. one of the things i always think about with spring is that smell in the air when spring officially arrives. it always reminds me of spring tennis practice and just finally, after months of waiting, being able to get back outside.
we’ve been blessed with minimal snow in the last month, but brutally cold temperatures. so, while mother nature has been playing these tricks with us, i’ve spent some more indoors time trying some new designs.
first up, my son’s second birthday invitation. i handmade his first birthday invites last year, but this year, i wanted to step things up a notch. theme is indisputably “mickey mouse clubhouse”…by far, our son’s favorite character and show right now. i took a trip to our new
paper source store in naperville, illinois for some supplies and inspiration…and came out with an idea that i was actually able to make a reality.
and of course, mickey mouse’s silhouette was a must-have, cut out with the cricut.

and for a little extra touch, some bright yellow dots (in all sizes) helped to make each invitation a custom-made piece for our very important invitees.

a little extra touch
i love having these as keepsakes for our son, and best of all, they’re so much fun to make and give his birthday a little special touch.
happy springtime to all!
