a peek at my make list for maker faire milwaukee…yikes!

it’s coming up on fall, which is always my busiest time of the year. and, this year (already) has been my busiest yet (thanks to all of my fabulous friends + fans!) i can’t even tell you how much i continue to appreciate and love the support that y’all continue to share with me!

for as busy as what this year has already been, there’s also a time when you have to take a step back and look at how everything in your life is working (or, not working). this summer has really encouraged me to look at all the things i have going on – mom, wife, my full-time career, re-nest work, volunteering, the boys’ extracurriculars – and, figure out how it can all be balanced a little better. (because i swear, it’s true that as kids get older, life just gets crazier!)

so, after a lot of thought, i’ve decided to do a couple of things this fall….

1. as of september 1, i will be putting my etsy shop on vacation for the month of september. the end of the month is one of my biggest shows of the season – maker faire milwaukee – and i need time to prepare and create! you can certainly get in touch with me via my facebook page or through etsy, but i will not be taking any new orders to be delivered during the month of september.

2. i will not be at this year’s sycamore pumpkin fest craft show. this pains me a ton because i know so many of my local friends always come see me there, and start placing your holiday orders with me. this was a tough decision, but i’ll tell you that shows are h-a-r-d. prep, setting up, making inventory, and being away from my family for two days is tough. and, if i’m at the show, i’m not able to enjoy any of the pumpkin fest activities with my sweet family. so this year, i’m sitting it out. but, never fear because you’ll still be able to get your holiday orders in with me because…..

3. i will be holding my first holiday open house this year! plans are still in the works, but it looks like november will be when i’m opening up my own little pop-up shop at my home with drinks + treats, where you can come and get your holiday orders in! << i’m super excited about this!

i love you all and i know you’ll appreciate and understand the little tweaks i’m making to help make sure i have all-important time with my family this fall. and, i can’t tell you how excited i am to launch an open house!
