last weekend, i was totally shocked again. i was invited to a “stamp camp” with a stampin’ up demonstrator (who happens to be a co-worker of my husband’s)…she was nice enough to invite me along, so i took the opportunity to spend a saturday with some new peeps. i had never been to a stamp camp before, but i figured i would learn how to make some new designs…what i didn’t expect was to be able to make six different cards and get to take them with me. and the creativity floored me.
so in the spirit of sharing, i wanted to showcase some of the work we did last weekend. all of the designs were pre-set by the demonstrator, and she put together pre-cut packets for all of us to use when constructing cards. the coolest was learning new techniques with new tools. (of course what that also means is there are more tools and gadgets i feel like i must have in order to make my crafting life complete.)
the card collection
the birthday greetings card. i kinda went rogue and decided to do a horizontal format

this was my favorite one to make. love the sparkle!
we made everything from a father’s day card to birthday cards to a just because card…so, mom, your birthday card is done. my dad’s day cards are done too, which is awesome (one less thing on the to-do list!)
and needless to say, i’m placing a gadget order with my stampin’ up demonstrator friend. and it’s opened up my eyes to seeing cards i make in a whole new way, which is what i most appreciate.
cards are one of my fave things to make for people. yes, they take more time than just going to the store and buying one, but like i’ve said, i love that they can be a little keepsake too.
here’s to an upcoming creative weekend!
