i don’t know about you, but i love getting the handmade gifts from my kids every year. just last night, our youngest proudly proclaimed that he “has two gifts for mommy,” and that one he’s making at school. i literally can’t wait to see what it is!

say hello to some very special handmade tile coasters!

these are such a cute little gift to make individually or as a set to give to that special person in your kids’ lives! to get started:

handmade tile coasters supply list

4″ x 4″ white ceramic tiles (you can pick these up at lowes, menards, or home depot)

sharpie oil-based marker (this is different than your typical sharpie…but, these are available at michaels!)

small strip of removable adhesive vinyl

scissors or paper punches

four circle felt pads (available at lowes, menards, or home depot)

step 1: grab one of your tiles, and get your sharpie marker ready. (you might need to take a minute and push the tip of the marker down into a piece of paper to get the ink to start flowing to the tip.)

step 2: choose what kind of design you’d like to include on your tile. your kiddos can freehand a drawing with the sharpie, cut out vinyl shapes with your paper punches, or if you have a cricut or silhouette cameo, you can even cut out shapes on those machines too!

step 3: choose where you want your design to be placed on your tile. take your sticker and place it on your tile.

step 4: now grab your sharpie oil-based marker and start decorating! for ours, i did little dots all the way around the border of my shape. you could trace the shapes, too!

step 5: you’ll want to wait for your sharpie to dry (about 30 minutes), and then gently peel your sticker off the coaster.

step 6: grab four of your circle felt pads, turn your tile over, and place one of each felt pad on each of the four corners.

that’s it! make one coaster, or make a set for someone special.
