Shopa baby shower for my soon-to-be first niece. a total infatuation for all things kate spade (by me + my sister, aka “the baby mama.”) this weekend, we had quite the celebration to welcome the first girl into our little extended family!
let’s just put this out there: i’m so excited for this little girl. like, to the point that where i get really excited, my sister says that i just stop forming actual words, and just make shrieking noises that don’t resemble english at all. you know what? i don’t care. this little girl is just everything.
so, when it came to planning + styling the baby shower for my sis, i wanted something special, both for my sis + for my sweet little niece. after all, i have been throwing little boy parties for eight years, and now it’s time to get some pink + sparkle action on!
let’s just get into the party, shall we? (because i know that’s what y’all want to see!) before i do though, i need to give some major shoutouts + props to some of the fantastic artists that helped make this vision possible: silver pumpkin designs, dandelion’s flowers + gifts, vera mae’s bistro, concannon’s bakery, sweet dream desserts + catering, and tonne winery!
i think this was my fave part of the shower…an instax mini 8 photo station, where guests could take a pic + write a sweet note to our little sweet “p!” large, flower covered monogram “p” by re-nest studio. message board by threepotatofour. camera by instax mini 8 (i think heidi swapp would be proud!)
the details were so important to me for this party, and i wanted my sister to feel super special. i designed a kate-spade inspired mama-to-be chair that she could sit in while she was opening presents. crown throw pillow by pillowfort for target. black + white awning stripe fabric from hobby lobby. paper flower swag decor by re-nest studio. “reserved for mama-to-be” framed art by re-nest studio.
i’m still floored over these gorgeous flowers from dandelions flowers and gifts in muncie! lisa + i had one convo, i sent pics and my vision and she made it absolutely, 1000% come to life!
the room we rented at tonne winery had this gorgeous fireplace that we knew we could use. some bright, modern, kate-inspired florals, a couple of strands of party garland from silver pumpkin designs + a rose gold “baby” mylar balloon set the stage!
i have always wanted an excuse to use giant mylar letters, and i finally had it! tonne winery had a great bar that we used for our food + cake set up, so what better way to dress up the area than with a little gold? balloons from amazon.com.
so, we ended up having not one, not two, but four pregnant mamas at this shower. so, food was critical! vera mae’s bistro in muncie did a delicious job catering for our more intimate affair!
want to hear a funny story? so. i ordered a plain white cake from sweet dream desserts and catering in sycamore to bring to muncie. the morning of the shower, i’m gathering all of my decor and it hits me like a mack truck. i forgot the cake. not “oh, i forgot the cake in my fridge at home,” but straight up “i never even picked it up from the bakery” forgot it. my mom swooped in (while i was sobbing) and concannon’s bakery saved the day. and, now our little family is enjoying the cake from deanna back in dekalb.
to say thank you to our guests, we gifted everyone with an eos lip balm, accented with a very special white + gold sparkle star. these custom-made, one-of-a-kind holders are from the fabulous joni at silver pumpkin designs!
last, but not least: the beautiful parents-to-be. i can’t tell you how very excited i am for these two and the beautiful, life-changing adventure they’re about to embark on. they are ready. they are ready to be parents to the gorgeous little girl that’s going to bless our lives. i love you both so very much.
